Registration and Participation
How do I join the platform?
Click the “Voice of Awakening” portal and complete the registration process.
Once registered, you may participate in public statements, petitions, submissions, and tips.
What information is required for registration?
Registration requires:
- Real name
- Personal profile photo
- Email address
A handwritten signature is also required when using the Statements and Records feature.
Can I register anonymously or use a pseudonym?
No.
Registration and public statements require real identity information.
Will my real name and photo always be displayed publicly?
Not necessarily.
You may choose whether to enable Privacy Protection.
When Privacy Protection is enabled:
- Only your surname will be displayed;
- Your given name will be partially masked with asterisks (for example: Zhang **);
- Your profile photo will be hidden.
Is the platform free to use?
Yes.
All current platform features are free of charge.
Can I edit or delete content after publication?
Generally no.
To preserve the integrity and traceability of published records, editing or deletion is generally not available after publication.
The platform may make exceptions where required by law or under special circumstances.
Statements and Petitions
What types of statements can I publish?
You may publish:
- Declarations of Awakening
- Withdrawal statements from the Chinese Communist Party
- Withdrawal statements from the Communist Youth League
- Withdrawal statements from the Young Pioneers
- Joint petitions and public initiatives
What materials are required for publishing a statement?
Typically:
- Real name
- Personal profile photo
- Handwritten signature
- Statement content

Submissions and Tips
How can I submit an article?
You may choose either method:
Online Submission
Log in and submit content through the “Submissions and Tips” section.
Email Submission
Send your article to the submissions email address listed on the About page.
What types of submissions are accepted?

- Human rights and civil rights cases
- Rule of law and civil society issues
- Public affairs and social issues
- Issues affecting overseas Chinese communities
- Personal observations and firsthand accounts
How do I submit a tip?
You may:
- Use the online submission system;
- Send information to the submissions email address.
Whenever possible, include relevant dates, locations, people involved, and other verifiable details.
Is a handwritten signature required for submissions?
No.
Handwritten signatures are required only for Statements and Petitions.
Will my real name be displayed if my submission is published?
Online submissions are submitted through registered accounts using real identity information.
If published, you may choose whether to enable Privacy Protection:
- Privacy Protection Disabled: full name and profile photo displayed;
- Privacy Protection Enabled: surname only, given name masked, and profile photo hidden.
For email submissions, attribution is determined between the editor and the contributor.
How long does the review process take?
Review times vary depending on content quality, editorial scheduling, and review requirements.
Submission does not guarantee publication.
Security and Privacy
Will my email address be made public?
No.
Email addresses are used only for account management, verification, and necessary communication.
Does the platform record my IP address?
The platform does not actively collect or retain IP addresses for user profiling.
Necessary technical logs may be generated during normal server operations.
Is it safe to use the platform from Mainland China?
China Awakens is a public platform.
Public participation may involve real-world risks.
